E pur possedendo una propria identit&agrave; culturale pi&ugrave; o meno forte, il dominato &egrave; costretto, nel bene e nel male, ad aprire al dominante quelle porte intime del proprio essere e che da quel momento in poi ne causeranno una modifica senza ritorno. Il caso degli Amerasian filippini &egrave; ancora una volta un esempio di colonialismo reiterato, con conseguenze umane individuali devastanti, incrementate in modo esponenziale da invasioni militari &quot;strategiche&quot;, prima, e dall&#39;imposizione di modelli culturali da estrema periferia d&#39;impero, poi. Nei visi e nelle espressioni dei filippini si leggono perci&ograve; tutte quelle tracce indigene miscelate a tratti somatici e fonemi spagnoli (i precedenti conquistadores) e nordamericani profondi. Le storie individuali annegano in solitudini complesse e da forti lineamenti interiori che divengono emblema dello smarrimento umano e sociale di questa consistente parte di popolo. La musica composta di &ldquo;Left By The Ship&rdquo; cerca quindi di descrivere un mondo intimo di ricerca di un&#39;identit&agrave; negata, sia essa indigena, sia essa acquisita, dove le sonorit&agrave; e le atmosfere di un mondo d&#39;oltre oceano (che guarda caso suggeriscono altre periferie rurali e di sperdute highway transnazionali), fatto di suoni di chitarra folk, modi blues e sprazzi di minimalismo si intercalano a reminiscenze di jotas da rondalla filippina e sonagli di bamb&ugrave;. Le emozioni scaturite sono ora di abbandono, di nascita e rinascita, ora di disperazione e speranza, nella ricerca di un legittimo riconoscimento familiare e di dignitosa appartenenza al consorzio umano: diritti che tardano entrambi ad arrivare.<\/span> <span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em>The story of a people is often marked by their conquests or by their conquerors, or by the traces and footprints left on earth. While having their own cultural identity, more or less strong, the dominated people are forced, for better or worse, to open the doors of their &ldquo;being&rdquo; to the dominant people: from that moment on they will undergo a change of no return. The case of Filipinos Amerasian is once again an example of reiterated colonialism, with human individual devastating consequences, exponentially increased from military &quot;strategic&quot; invasions followed by an imposition of cultural models of extreme periphery of empire. On the faces and in the expressions of Filipinos can read all the indigenous tracks mixed with deep Spanish and North American somatic features and phonemes. The individual stories are drowning in complex solitudes with strong interior outlines that become emblematic of the human and social bewilderment. The music composed tries to describe an intimate world of search of a denied identity, whether indigenous or acquired. The sounds and atmosphere of an overseas world (that, as chance would have it, they suggest other rural surroundings and secluded transnational highways) are constituted by the sounds of folk guitar, blues and flashes of minimalist ways, interspersed with reminiscences of jotas of Filipino rondalla and bamboo rattles.
